Getting there

Victoria, located at the southernmost tip of Vancouver Island, is the provincial capital of British Columbia. Victoria is famous for its extravagant gardens, historic sites and public spaces, innovative sustainable architecture, and kilometres of coastal temperate rainforest.

By Air

Located 30 minutes from downtown Victoria and five minutes from Sidney, Victoria International Airport (YYJ) has daily flights from Vancouver International Airport (approx. 30 minute flight), as well as direct and non-stop flights from the rest of Canada and the United States. Rental cars, taxis, limousines and airport shuttles are all available to take you to your final destination.

Victoria International Airport is served by BC Transit with up to frequent departures to and from YYJ and Downtown Victoria.  There are also regularly scheduled airport shuttles if you are travelling with a group or require a larger vehicle. By Ferry (from Vancouver)

BC Ferries connects Vancouver to Victoria by ferry. The large network of vehicle ferries connects Vancouver Island, British Columbia’s mainland and smaller islands, like the Gulf Islands. Frequent daily service by BC Ferries between Vancouver and Victoria brings cars and passengers to its terminal at Swartz Bay, approximately 32 km north of Victoria.

Getting Around

The Victoria region has an excellent public transit system that will take you throughout the area. Buses run frequently and are a great way to venture out of the downtown core and into the surrounding areas and suburbs. BC Transit’s accessible buses carry wheelchairs, scooters and bicycles. Strap your bike on the front of a bus and head out to the country to cycle!
